Nearly all the jobs state that the employer will pay 50% of my medical insurance. On average, how much is it in Korea? |

It's based on your salary. I forget the percent but you can look that up on the national health insurance website.
Because your salary is sometimes composed of a base plus bonuses like holiday bonus, the amount that they report is often different than what your actual (monthly) salary is.
I find that the insurance has gotten quite expensive. When I first came back to Korea in 2006 I paid about 45,000 a month but in 2009 I was paying 80,000 a month. That is the same amount that I paid in the US but I had much better coverage in the US. |

Yeah, I agree. It's cheap in Korea if you just go visit a doctor and fill a prescription for a minor ailment. However, if you ever break your limb or require hospital stay for something minor/serious, you really have to pay. |
