I'm taking a trip home and planning on bringing things back through Incheon airport, possibly including a new laptop, other electronic items, and a designer bag a friend wants from the duty free shop here in Korea.
When I come back through customs, I'm assuming I don't have to declare the electronics if they've been open and "used" If I'm carrying my laptop and iPod on the plane is there any reason not to bring the original packaging as long as the boxes have been opened and tags removed?
Also, if I purchase a handbag in Korea duty-free, remove the tags and bring it back in my checked luggage, is it an expensive item I'm importing or just a used personal item? I guess I can put some t-shirts or something in it on the way back... I'm a guy so it will look a little strange if I wear it as carry-on.
Anyone have any advice or had any problems bringing things back? I've never been searched so far so I'm not anticipating a problem, but want to make sure |

You would be lucky if the customs people actually pay attention to you. Bring back whatever you want and don't give it a second thought. I swear, this country is a joke when it comes to customs. China was actually easier, but Korea ranks up there as a joke as well. |
