|

Hi everyone
My old passport expired back in Nov. and with it, my multiple re-entry sticker became invalid. I was told at immigration that if I chose to renew my contract for 2010, I could just buy another sticker for my new passport at Incheon before flying home for vacation. Then again, immigration officials will say one thing one day and something entirely different the next so I'm not too comfortable just taking their word on something like this.
I've not met any F/T's who have done this so could anyone confirm it? If so, is it fairly easy to do this at the airport? |

You can do that.
There is an immigration office at the airport that will do it for you.
When you get a new passport, all your visas/permits get transferred over. Just make sure you take the old passport with you to show that you have a re-entry permit and that it hasn't expired. |

yes you can but you can only get a single not a multiple. Make sure you show up early as there can be a queue. |

You can do it, but you can only pay for a single one...just do it online with immigration. Then you can get the multiple. |

I've just re-read your post - are you sure that your re-entry permit becomes invalid because your old passport has expired?
I got a new passport and when I went to register it at my local immigration, they just transferred my re-entry permit over... |

Thank you all SOOO much for the quick responses.
To the previous poster- YES, I was told that my former re-entry sticker became invalid after Nov. 9 when my passport expired. Nothing was transferred. This was at Cheongju immigration.
As for getting a single re-entry permit at Incheon, I'm fine with that because I plan on going home for good this summer, so I suppose I don't really need a multiple. I just need to be able to get back in the country this coming Feb. when I come back from vacation because I have to start work in March.
Thanks again!
Oh, and where exactly is this service located at Incheon Airport? |

there are a couple of them. When you walk in the main enterence walk to the back wall where the bathrooms are and it's around there. Just look on one of the maps and it should clearly be marked immigration. fill out the forms, buy the stamp and hand over your passport. If there is no queue it doesn't take long |
