That's what make-up's for - to make people look good. Otherwise it wouldn't be a multi-million dollar industry.

Why are people surprised when actresses who don't put makeup on are ordinary like the rest of us?

For me, the most striking has always been January Jones- the woman who plays Betty Draper on Mad Men. When she isn't wearing the Betty makeup she looks about 12 years old
