There is no DMB on iPhones but I never used it on my old phone anyway. There are a lot of apps that tend to occupy my time. I use Twitter, me2DAY, catch up on news with New York Times, ESPN, CNN, CNBC, Time and play a number of games on my iPhone. Personally, I wouldn't go with any other phone.
About half of the people I associate with in terms of business connections have the Blackberry. They always gave me crap about waiting for the iPhone but now they seem to look at me in envy. If you know a lot of Blackberry users in Korea, then the messenger service coud be useful. That and push e-mail but the iPhone has both of those services. You can browse the Web on Blackberry but the interface is not as intuitive as the iPhone. One of the major drawbacks everyone cites in terms of the iPhone is the carrier (AT&T) but here in Korea, we don't have that problem.
SK is supposed to bring out the Motorola Droid next month. I've played with the Droid but I can't see how it beats the iPhone. In America, it's on Verizon (which is a plus) but again, that benefit doesn't hold true in Korea. The only other positive is the hard keyboard but I've tried it and it's low quality. The Blackberry keyboard is much better.
I think we'll see a bunch of good Android phones come out in 2010. Samsung makes good hardware and with the Android OS, I think they can put up a worthy competitor to the iPhone. If you need a phone right now, get the iPhone. If you can wait until say, March at the earliest, then you might want to check out a Samsung Android phone. That or maybe the Google phone might make it here but I wouldn't count on it. |
