I am flying to Korea for the first time on Tuesday. I'm wondering what the best way to change money is. Should I do it at the airport, when I arrive in Seoul, or somewhere in Los Angeles before I leave, or something else? I'm planning to bring $1000, and I'm also not sure if I need to bring cash or a check or something similar. Thanks! |

Judging from your post, you were recruited by EPIK. |

No, not EPIK. Just heard a few different things and thought the posters here might have the best advice. |

Definitely not at the airport unless you really need some quick change. Most banks will do it and they all vary. |

The exchange booths at the INCHEON airport ARE THE SAME as the comparable (same bank name) bank in the city. They offer the SAME exchange rate as the same branded bank in the city.
OP: bring nice, new, crisp $100 bills and exchange a few hundred dollars when you arrive at the airport in Korea.
DO NOT buy won in LA. |
