Just wondering how knowing Korean has effected your social life in the spectrum of dating. I'm sure that knowing some Korean for the most part leads to at least some higher understanding of that other person's culture, so it's probably a bonus.
But yet again, I seem to meet a plethora of people that seem to somehow get by without little to no Korean. How is it done? |

It helps, but like anything else, there are definitely diminishing returns. I learned the minimum of Korean necessary for hitting on girls who don't speak English, and it helped me get more dates. But learning even more Korean than I know now would not help me get even more dates.
When you first start learning a language, every new phrase you learn seems very useful. But after you reach an "intermediate" level there's a loooong plateau before total fluency, which pays big dividends. I think if I spoke totally fluent Korean I could pick up K-girls left and right, and much hotter ones than I have in the past. But I probably never will make it over the plateau to reach that level of fluency, and if I do, I'll probably already be married by then.
nosmallplans, I miss your old avatar! |

Yeah, me too. I sent it to a friend for resizing - we'll see how it turns out. |

nosmallplans, me three... your former avatar is the most mesmerizing thing of beauty on this sight that I never get bored of and have to stare at for extended amounts of time every time you post. Sexier than full frontal nudity, hotter than porn... hopefully you are resizing it bigger. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Can we get a support group going? I'm suffering from withdrawls.... |

If you can't use it as your avatar anymore, could you at least post the link to the gif image so I can oogle it on my own time outside of Dave's? Thanks! |
