Hi Everybody,
My apologies if this question has already been asked, but so far I haven't seen any information that matches my particular situation.
I was born in the US to Korean parents. They had Korean citizenship at the time and have never changed to US citizenship. My family never put me on the Hojuk. I have had US citizenship all my life. I never went through any formal process to renounce Korean citizenship.
I have heard conflicting accounts as to whether I'm eligible for the F-4 visa or not. I would greatly appreciate answers from any of you who may know the answer.
Thanks. |

Your parents never became US citizens? For the F-4, I think your parents *must* renounce Korean citizenship. Don't think you can qualify for F-4 without that. Someone may know more than I do, though. |

That's not true. Both of my parents are Korean citizens but I have been granted an F4.
But OP, your case is certainly different from mine. I think the best option for you to do is to ring the Korean embassy or Korean consulate to find out for certain. |
