Israel Air Force Bombs Gaza After International Aid Convoy Breaks Thru Blockade

Posted: 2010/01/08
From: Mathaba

Israeli air force jets pounded the narrow Gaza strip of land killing at least one and wounding several others, a day after an international humanitarian convoy busted through the Israeli blockade on the Palestinian territory.

Around three quarters of the badly needed humanitarian supplies arrived, with the remainder missing in Egypt, which obstructed the convoy in violation of an agreement reached in Jordan with the aid convoy organizers, according to British MP George Galloway.

It appears the air raids are further punishment for the Palestinians for voting for a political party which does not recognize the Zionist Israeli occupation of Palestine and a signal to the international community that Israel is not embarrassed by its blockade of Gaza and its human rights violations there.

Recently, an Israeli nuclear scientist testified that Israel is holding the United States and Europe to ransom by pointing armed nuclear missiles at European capital cities.

Israeli planes dropped thousands of leaflets, over northern Gaza and Gaza City on Thursday, the day before the aerial bombings. The leaflets bore telephone numbers and email addresses, urging people to inform the Israeli army of any activities by the Palestinians in the border area.

The Zionist entity had counted on Egypt to block the humanitarian aid convoy from being allowed to pass through Egypt, and has closed down the Kerem Shalom crossing with the Gaza Strip "until further notice".
