As I write this, EmoDio is still trying to load one album from my music into it's library. It's a standard album, 15 tracks, my computer is reasonable, not top-end, but not slow either. It has so far taken EmoDio over 10 minutes to load it....and counting. Pathetic.
I bought a nice new Samsung M1 PMP last month, and of course to use it fully you have to use their software. Registering the product was a nightmare, because so far the M1 has only been released in Korea so there is very little online support in English for it. You have to use the browser embedded in EmoDio to do this.......and I had to revert to Korean to get this to work.
The player itself is nice, but EmoDio is a joke. As previously mentioned, adding new music to the library is hopeless, creating playlists to transfer to the player is confusing at first as the manual and software call them different things, and the search function is a disgrace. Any time I try and search for something, as soon as I type something in the search box EmoDio shuts down!
How can a huge multinational like Samsung, who make great MP3 players, not improve their software? I find it amazing.
OK....now that i've vented, does anyone use another media player with their Samsung player that works better, and still allows you to create playlists? I use Winamp for playing music on my computer, but as of yet haven't tried to use it with my M1. Any ideas? |

In 2000 I bought the first MP3 cellphone in the UK. It was made by Samsung. I dragged and dropped my tracks onto the cellphone when it was connected to the computer.
Imagine my disappoint when, 4 years later, I bought an expensive MP3 cellphone in Korea only to find that I needed a Melon account in order to put songs onto my phone. Things have not gotten much better since then.
Yeah they weren't PMPs, but its obviously the same protectionist nonsense going on. |
