|
|
My school is a GEPIK school, but maybe this might also be relevant to EPIK schools.
I've heard the following rumour, and maybe someone can give us an update on this - apparently the number of classes per week for Grade 3's and 4's will be increased to two per week (like the Grade 5's and 6's). Apparently we are going to use a new curriculum, with new Minsu and Tony C.D etc. etc.
Does someone know about this ? Not that I want to complain about this, I merely want to know more about the new changes to the curriculum etc. |

If that means less 1st-2nd grade classes, that is great news. |

Still 1 Grade 1 and 2 class per week, but more classes for the Grade 3's and 4's. Did you hear anything about it ? |

I m EPIK not GEPIK but I also heard that grades 3 and 4 are going to 2 classes a week and grades 5 and 6 are going to 3 classes a week.
I haven't been told about any changes to the book and cd yet though. |

For GEPIK:
Grade 3 & 4 will have 120 contact hours/year with NET, increased from 76 now next year. There's a new text book coming.
Grade 5 & 6 will have 160 contact hours, increased from 120 now, in 2011.
This was promulgated in early 2009.
Probably this will free the elementary teachers from grade 1 & 2 (and Kinder and others) in those made-up classes to fill the 22-hours. |

I'm for anything that gets me out of having to turn up early and stand at the gate waiting for kids to parrot that week's phrase! |

If they want extra classes, but still use the same book.....eeeeeKKKK!
I hope they will start allowing us to bring in some new materials.
Not likely, but I can always hope. |
