Bono's ONE charity has a petition you can sign to convince financial groups like the IMF to cancel Haiti's $890 million debt. This will help the country get back on its feet after the earthquake and sees that the aid donations it receives do not go to debt repayment.
I'm not sure why, but this petition seems to be open only to Americans & Canadians. The online petition requires a U.S. zip code or a Canadian postal code, so for expats from these countries, use your parents' or some other relative's zip or postal code back home.
That said, maybe it accepts zip codes / postal codes from other countries. I haven''t tried. However, this petition is on a page that says "U.S." in the top right-hand corner of the web page.
