This is a vacation question to SMOE/ex-SMOE

The contract states we aren't entitled to more than 7 days vacation if we quit before or at 6 months of a contract. But the new policy of enforced 16 day vacation of our 21 day allowence this winter means many people will be taking more than that before their 6 months. Then we get the point about pro-rata vacation if quitting after 6 months, which is quite vague.

SO the question is, does the pro-rata start accumulating from month one, but only kicks in at month 7? ie 1.75 days per month worked, meaning by month 8 for example we're entitled to 1.75 x 8 =approx 14 days OR does it mean we get 7 days until 6 months and the remaining 14 days then get pro-rata over the last 6 months, giving 2.33 days each month 7-12 plus the first 7 days? =7 days plus 2.33x2 = 11.5 days (approx)?

To put it another way, is the vacation allowence 21/12 (with a 7 day, 6 month clasue) OR is it 7 days + 14/6?
