Sorry if this is a noob question or something that's been asked several times over.

I'm currently working with a recruiting agency that I've been in contact with since March/April of this year. At first I was going to apply to SMOE to get a public school job, but the timing of the NET orientation and the end of my contract became a problem.

As a result, I decided to just look for a hagwon job and the recruiter told me, and is still telling me not to worry and that 'we' have plenty of time on our hands to get that position.

Well, it is now less than 2 1/2 months until the end of my contract (it runs until the end of August) and I'm getting a little anxious. So my question, after a long and boring setup, is when should I expect to be hearing offers from this recruiter or any other that I may apply? I have expressed interest in renewing at my current school if need be, but that needs to be finalized with them at least a month in advance of the end of my contract. Is there a shorter turnover for teachers already working in Korea or should I start hunting for other recruiters?

Plenty of advanced appreciation and thanks for any advice. Smile

2.5 months is still a bit early. Maybe 1.5 months in you could have several offers on the table to choose from, however schools aren't really seeking their replacement... yet (you live here and didn't know this already??)

Or you could play it safe and find a new recruiter Idea

I think I'm just being a bit overly cautious and paranoid that if I don't get it done now, I'll be effed over in the end. I'm still getting used to the Korean-style of time management. Shocked
