Is there one in S. Korea available now? I'm looking for a phone with the Android O/S.
I'm not expecting a Nexus One anytime soon. |

Droid is not coming. I read a couple weeks ago on Naver that negotiations stalled. |

However, there is a slew of new Android phones coming.

XT-720 has a 8-megapixel camera, not 5 megapixel, and it supports Mobile TV (T-DMB), Bluetooth, and HDMI. |
Also, I read on Naver that the Nexus One will be offered through SKT at the end of January.
Half of LG's new cell phones this year will be Android.
For those that are patient, the Android phones are coming. Makes me kinda regret getting an Iphone now. I would love to get my hands on a Nexus One. |

I read that somewhere too, but it wasn't a Korean-based site, so I assume it was meant in regards to LG's foreign market. It makes me wonder how eager the Korean telecoms are to put Android (a 'foreign' OS) into their phones. |

They are very eager. Up until this point, they've been using a lot of Windows Mobile but will start to switch over to Android. We'll see some solid Android phones from Samsung and LG this year. |

Samsung and LG love the Android platform. For starters, its basically free. Phone makers don't pay Google to use it. So, the money for each handset sold goes to each company. They don't have to pay any money to Microsoft or any other company for license of the OS.
Also, Samsung and LG are one of the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance. |

pkang, just wondering, besides the Android becoming available, are there any regrets you have in getting the iPhone, now that you've had it for a while? |

RIght now I don't regret it. Its the best phone you can buy in Korea. In a few months when the Android phones come in, then who knows. |
