Hi everyone !

My wife and I are planning a trip starting around April 5th, which will begin in Hanoi, Vietnam. We'll then cross S.E. Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar/Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore)

I'm currently searching for the cheapest flight ticket from Seoul to Hanoi. I've been browsing a few korean travel websites without much success. Do you have any good address to send me to? (Agent, website, etc...)

Apart from that, do you good advices (accomodations, food, sightseeing, must-do) about the countries we'll be visiting?

Thanks in advance for the help !

I've done a few sections of the countries you are going to travel. From Ho Chi Min city in the southern part of Vietnam, you can take tours that go up the Mekong Delta in 3 or 4 days and end in Phnom Penh. After Angkor Wat you can go up into South Laos or cross into Thailand.
For me the middle and southern part of Vietnam are the worst areas that you mention. So maybe you want to skip those and just bus from Hanoi straight to Viantienne, Laos, and go north or south from there.
A couple of popular hangouts are Pai, Thailand and Vang Vieng, Laos.
Finally, just so you know, April isn't spring in southeast Asia; April is the hottest month in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar. May is also really freakin hot. If I were taking a long backpacking trip starting in April, I think I would fly to Hong Kong or Guangzhou, go go Yongshou, Chengdu, Lijiang and keep going up into the Hymilayas as the weather gets warmer. Then in June or July skip down to Indonesia, where July, August are the best (cool, dry) months.

The best way to find a good deal for tickets from Seoul is to go through travel agents. They reserve a bunch of tickets from the airlines and discount them, so they should actually have the best deal. I like Soho Travel in Seoul.

I know I plug this a lot, but feel free to look at my itineraries from my trips to Vietnam and Malaysia: http://keneckert.com/pictures/pictures.html

It just isn't all that cheap to fly to Vietnam. I flew to Hanoi for about 700,000, and then there's the visa. Perhaps you could reverse your trip and fly to Thailand or Singapore first, and head north instead of south.

I always use this section of Cathay Pacific's website. I gave them my email, and they send me monthly deals. The prices are always good...but the tickets are quite restricted.
