I'm sorry the site is in Korean, but most of it is in English. Just keep scrolling down and you'll see the all the pictures and information you need with English titles. The monitor is HDCP ready, it's the HP2009F model, and it has built in speakers. What I really need to know is can I play my PS3 on this monitor using my headphones? If you scroll about 60% down the page, a picture shows you a close up of the back inputs: DVI, VGA and Audio. Do I just need an HDMI to DVI cable and I'm good to go? Or an hdmi female to DVI male adaptor, either/or?

I'm over in Busan and I really can't ask the guys at the electronics store I'm going to buy this monitor at, they don't speak much English and what little English they did speak they were wrong about this monitor. They said "No PS3". Can you guys that I trust know your stuff help me out here? This seems so obvious but those guys at the store confused me. I need to know for sure before I spend $200 on a monitor out here. I'm desperate to play my ps3 out here without buying an HDTV which are extremely, extremely expensive....
Thanks for your help, I really, really want to get back into playing ps3. It's been several weeks.
Also, anyone know any good electronics stores in Busan to buy the adaptors I need? I'd rather not order online, I live at my school and I don't know if it will be delivered properly to me. I found this monitor at Hi-Mart. |

Thanks a lot man, helpful.
One question: How do I get to the Bujeon underground arcade with all video game and electronics stores? Where exactly is it? Thank you.
PS You found the thread I posted on gamefaqs but they weren't very helpful for the most part, flooding me with misinformation, I got pretty annoyed. |

Hey I MIGHT be wrong but.
If you connect your monitor up using DVI then you won't get any sound.
If you have a seperate AV then your fine.
I think it might be best to buy a monitor with a HDMI input. |

It depends where you are. I always describe Seomyeon as a "T" where you get off the subway. A T where lines 1 and 2 cross. While still underground go to the T(at the top of the stairs coming AWAY from Lotte) and turn left towards Bujeon. Walk until you go up a ramp. Dunkin Donuts will be just inside on the right after you go though the doors. At least you know you're in the right area when you see it. There are two corridors. I always go down the right side as my favourite shop is down there. Have issues with the first shop owner on the right, so I avoid him. Your choice whether or not you want to give him your business or not though. He may have what you're looking for. There are probably about 6 shops these days. If you've not found what you want by the time you get to the actual Bujeon subway station, you're not going to find it in that particular area.
You could also try Bujeon Electronics Market itself, but that place seemed like a nightmare the one time I walked through it. You have to walk up into the actual road area on the left-side of the street. There's a huge warehouse building, which was peagreen the last time I was there. Seemed like it was more a place for music people at the time. Don't know if it's even still there.
ETLand is another option at Seomyeon Rotary. If your back is to Lotte Department Store, turn right and go towards Migliore. Cross the intersection underground. It's the first building on the right.
As I said Gaya Computer is another option as is Myeongryun Dong if you're living closer to PNU. |

You will have to run sound out of the PS3's optical connection, then. |

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm gonna head to the Bujeon underground mall this weekend and pick up the adaptors I need if I can find them. I'll update this thread and let you know how the PS3 connection to a monitor goes, and confirm everything needed. That way people here in Korea who want to play ps3 in HD can play hundreds of thousands of won less to do so. Buying a monitor and speakers is so much cheaper than buying an HDTV of any size here. |

That's a pretty nice monitor for a reasonable price and pretty much exactly what I'm looking. Problem is, I live in an apartment above my school and I'm worried ordering things online will not arrive safely for me... I haven't received anything in the mail yet here to try it out. That's why I want to buy the monitor at a store, and the store I was at was selling that HP monitor.
You think a 20 inch monitor like that HP will be too small to play ps3 on? I will be sitting pretty close to it. |

Yes, 20" is too small. Especially when you can have a beautiful LG like this for less. HP monitors were just gorgeous a year ago. Others have caught up. Honestly, I'd buy one of these LG monitors and have it shipped to your school. Get it there. Make sure they know it's coming. |
