Again, because I LOVE making public announcements that make me seem knowledgeable and wise...
But just reading the thread about the girl who didnt have hers (i assume she is a she). And i know that 98% of you will have one, hell, some of you were lucky enough to get one on your visa. But to the non US people, just make sure you have it. Its a 15 minute trip to immigration to get it and it will save you a world of crap if you plan on returning to korea on the same visa you left with. |

... or even better yet, since your ARC is required to get your re-entry permit, simply tick the extra box on the top of the application form when you apply for your ARC and get your re-entry permit at the SAME time.
Saves a LOT of wasted time and grief later.

| And just a heads up for the mee-guks ~ it's no longer standard for immigration to automatically issue a multiple entry visa for Americans. I've had to ask for it specifically for the last few years... |

Must be different for each consulate. Got multiple entry in 2007 and 2009. |

| If you extend your visa, you will need to get a new re-entry permit |
There's a little gray area there. In Sept, I was finishing a year contract with school 1. I signed a contract with School 2, got a multiple entry permit, but the job offer fell through, and I had to get a 3rd school before my visa for School 1 expired. I was preparing for the worst, getting all documents ready in case I had to do a visa run to Japan.
Then I went to Incheon immigration. They kept the multiple entry permit I got with School 2, and they added another stamp to show a change in my location from School 1 to School 3. I immediately questioned them on this, because I thought I would need a new re-entry permit. They confirmed I didn't, and that they can work independent from the visa.
A place like HiKorea or a recruiter will tell you that you need everything because they want to make sure you have what immigration wants. In the end it's up immigration to decide. Make sure you contact them directly, get names of the people you talk to, and when they work (so you can see them again). |

| If you renew, ask Immi when you do so whether your new visa is multiple entry in their records. It may say multiple on your physical visa, but it could no longer be the case for the gubment. |
