Hey all,
So I realize this is probably the most newb question ever
But I just bought a universal electric adapter at GeumhoWorld in Gwangju to use with my Apple products. (Already checked, the voltage conversion won't fry my laptop.)
HOWEVER.
So my computer plug has 3 prongs. The universal adapter does have space for 3 prongs, but there are these two plastic squares behind the adapter space for the top two prongs, and the two plastic squares are blocking entry.
I've looked all over the adapter to see if there's an easy way to remove the two plastic squares blocking the two top entrances for my plug. Yet it is just resulting in frustration. Can't figure out how to get it to work!
I'm sure this is pretty easy to figure out but I'm stuck. Can someone help? |

BTW, this is similar to what my adapter looks like. You can see the two plastic squares blocking the upper two prongs, can't figure out how to remove them?

I can't see the photo but if it's the same one that I have, which I think it is, the solution isn't very savvy but it worked. The barriers do move out of the way (slide inwards) with enough pressure - the first time I plugged my laptop cord into the adapter, it felt like it was going to break but eventually it clicked in and now it works perfectly. Seems like maybe they're made with pieces attached that need to be 'broken' in. Idiotic, I know, but give it a try. |

This worked! Thank you! I feel stupid, I was paranoid I was going to break the adapter. Thanks. |

I've been there with ropey universal adapter shenanigans. I swear some of 'em are being knocked out of Chinese factories without passing safety. |
