So I woke up to some rather inconsistent internet service.
All the Korean sites are lightning fast, non korean sites are about 50/50 between lightning fast or so slow they end up timing out. Tried a restart of the machine as well as a restart of the modem and router to rule those out and no help.
I'm getting pings of 180ms to google.ca with 100% return
but 255 to eslcafe.com with 50% loss.
xfire.com gives me 100% loss
startrekonline has pings of 1400ms with 25% loss.
yahoo.ca gets me 150ms with no loss.
digg is 250 with 50% loss
a lot of other sites are returning 100% loss as well..
according to a tracert, it seems to be falling apart on an IP 58.229.15.78 which belongs to hanaro which is SK.
but not all paths to the US lead through that one. Going to google or yahoo it never crosses that particular router. |

Facebook.com was redirecting me to an Icelandic website last night... And some speed issues.
But other than that, nothing too out of the ordinary so far. |

seems to have cleared up now. Rather strange that they have 2 completely different paths out to the US, but that in the event of trouble it doesn't automatically send everything over the one that is okay. |
