Ok, I realize I got kind of a late start and may have missed the boat, which is fine. I would like to start a job at the end of February or early March. I am almost finished with my ITTT certification, CRC will be in within 10 days, have my degree and diploma to be Apostilled. I live 3 hours away from Austin, Tx, so this won't be a problem.

Should I go ahead and start contacting recruiters and looking for specific jobs? I always value your advice and appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

With your documents ready in ten days, you should post your resume and cover letter now. For several days, you'll have a streak of calls from recruiters carpet bombing positions that may or may not be what you are looking for or outside of your time frame. In order to be selective and still get the time frame you want, now is the time.

I honestly wish I had contacted recruiters at least 2 months before I wanted to start. They were throwing jobs at me but it took forever to weed through the crappy ones.

Start looking now, even if you dont apply. It will give you a good feel for the decent and crappy jobs, what you can expect etc Scour daves for info and advice and start preparing. You can still get work for March if you start applying now, but Id recommend waiting to find a decent job over taking an average job that starts when you want it to.

Post your resume, join lots of recruiting agencies, check job sites daily.

You definately havent missed the boat, recruiters could find you a job in a heartbeat... just have to wait for a good one.

Thanks for the helpful advice! I've been scouring Dave's for over 6 months now and honestly don't know how anyone would do it without you guys.

Thats good news! The more research you do, the more chance you have of getting a good job. I was the same as you, spent forever checking daves before actually getting a job... helped me a lot too. I rejected a lot of jobs and when I finally accepted a position, I ended up staying there for 3 years Smile

I found that if an aspect of my life wasnt going so good, I could still do my job well. But when the job isnt going well it was spilling over in to all other aspects of my life.

#1 priority, finding a good job!
