I typed this posts title into the search engine but it didn't work so maybe starting a new post is the best idea.
My hagwon are due to order new books for March and I'd like to get some better ones than those we currently use. What would people suggest for elementary and middle school students? I prefer books that encourage speaking over written grammar exercises.
We change books every four months and students rarely stay much longer than a year so what would be good is if there was a series post-phonics that you could take the students through over the course of a year (I know there are better ways to teach, but this would be an improvement on our current order any old book every four months as reccomended by the Korean supplier). The only suggestion I've had so far is to use side by side books 1 to 3 in this fashion.
Thanks for any advice. |

"Let's Go" series is alright for elementary.
Boost has a series of writing, listening, speaking etc. books that are okay for middle school....relatively short.
"Can You Believe It" (3 books) helps with idioms and assists with conversation.
CNN has a reading comprehension series that are too long but have some interesting articles for middle school students. |
