Depends if you want to be in the city or not. I live in Bupyeong and if you look at a subway map (CURRENT map), there is an Incheon line which is west of the seoul network of lines. They are connected by Line 1. Transportation is about 1 hour-1.5 depending on where you want to go.

I prefer the west side, so it doesn't matter to me. However, if you want to go to places like Uijeongbu, Guri, Gangnam, or Bundang, then it's better to look for a job east of Sadang station.

As far as living, it is a lot better to me, and it's not as crowded. Ilsan is kind of hard to get to (northwest of Seoul), so also take that into account.

One thing to note though is that there are 2 Incheon lines now, and one of them is very expensive. It goes from Incheon airport to Gimpo airport. I would NOT live along that line. The one that goes from Gyeyang to Bupyeong station and connects to Line 1 is fine.

If you don't mind spending the extra cash for transportation, you could take line 5 into Seoul from Gimpo station.

Incheon is pretty big so it really depends on where. I also lived in Bupyeong, Incheon, and it was good. Rent is much cheaper than Seoul, buses to Seoul take between 35 mins and an hour, and you can catch a train to Yongsan in about 35 mins.

I'd suggest finding out where in Incheon you are then find a subway map to see how possible it is to get around.
