Please recommend a budget resort or hotel on Mindanao Island, Philippines:

As background I am a little spoiled by Thailand hotels. In most Thailand tourist spots, for about 20 USD (700 baht) and a little looking around I can find clean, modern accommodations with minibar, A/C, hot water and a wi-fi connection, sometimes a pool. Not so in the Philippines.

In the Philippines I usually need to spend closer to 40-60 USD and I don't think the cleanliness is up to par even at that price. I need to hang out on Mindanao Island waiting for some paperwork for the Filipino wife to clear. Can anyone recommend a decent budget place for around 20 USD (1,000 pesos) on the North end of Mindanao Island that is cool to hang out?

Cleanliness and wi-fi are the highest priority. I can go anyplace on Mindanao as long as the kidnap risk is not high but a place between CDO and Butuan City would be best.

Regards

Hotel Camila2 in Dipolog City has pretty much everything you ask for. I thik single rooms are somewhere around the 1500 peso mark. Very clean and safe, nice bar and pool etc. There are some resorts outside the city, but I couldn't tell you anything about those price wise.
