Not much different than Haitians. I blame the US or colonialism. I would never blame African values, beliefs or culture, because that would be racist.

This is not something specific to Africa. Every place on the earth where humans have lived has seen atrocities just like on this video.

It just so happens that because of many(understatement) factors Africa is one of the centers of the sh@tstorm right now.

If you liked it, you ought to watch their Vice Guide to North Korea.

I agree, the Liberia series was great (well, disgusting but well done), though a bit leading at times.

The bit on North Korea, however, while interesting overall, was mostly alot of extreme sensationalism. I wonder if he would make those same comments about the food and museum atmosphere if he were to make a similar video on South Korea. The food was just normal 한정식 style, while the museums looked every bit as nationalistic the ones you find here and in Japan... he just was forced to attend every exhibit. And his manners? I'm actually very surprised he didn't end up in jail for his boorish behavior. That **** would piss people off south of the border.

Yes, the vast majority of North Koreans live in terrible conditions (but the video didn't show this). Yes, the atmosphere of many of the places was strange. Yes, he was operating under extremely restrictive conditions (though I am surprised he was allowed to film much of what he did). But it was painfully obvious that much of what he said was simply filler to make up for what he couldn't shoot and what he couldn't say.
