Not only did Mehmet Ali Ağca shoot Pope John Paul II but he also killed a journalst, Abdi İpeki. This article from the Hrriyet goes into some detail about it. He also robbed two banks. He did all of this before the age of 23.

The murder of İpeki is a real mystery. Ağca was part of the Grey Wolves, an ultra-nationalist organization and some believe they were used by the CIA. More can be read about it here.

I know some people scoff at using wikipedia as a source but if someone can find a better source you're welcome to post it.
Anyway the Grey Wolves helped him escape from prison where he fled to Bulgari and later Italy. And now he's out of prison again but this time officially. Everone I've talked to here in Turkey thinks it's unjust that he was released. There are also a lot of unanswered questions about the murder of Hrant Dink, the Armenian-Turkish journalist which are being brought up again. |

It is a travesty to justice that someone like that is released. Agca is a poster boy for life without parole. Mindlessly vicious. What is also sad is he is a lot like the islamists that you see around you. |
