Ok...does anyone know a good place to buy these in seoul?
I know the costco roast chickens are pretty good but kinda far from me.
The emart chickens are pretty rubbish..very small and mangy and cooked oddly..
Lottemart doesnt do em
The little vans with the chickens on the back..theyre always tiny..
Anyone got any recommendations? |

I wonder if Seoul will ever get a Walmart. In the USA, 3 dollar chickens. They were juicy and good and you could get them barbequed. Although 3 dollar chickens in Korea may not be possible. |

They had wallmart, it left. The prices weren't any better than emart (the selection was better tho) |

You can freeze cooked chicken.
Buy several and dump them in the freezer. |

Yeah, you've got the number on those e-martuh chickens. Though I don't mind buying one, stripping it, and boiling its bones for soup, I don't think I could get one or two sandwiches out of the standard bird.
When I first got my oven, they were 3000 for one of those little fryers. |

Well let's see.
We can calculate the utility of each kind of chicken with a simple formula. Let's use the formula utils = X/(Y + Z) whereby:
X is the size of the bird in ounces
Y is the amount of time needed to secure said bird
and Z is the price of the bird.
So consider that each Costco bird weighs roughly 32 ounces. We also need to blatantly assume some number for calculating Y, so in my instance from Anyang to Yangjae takes around 40 minutes by bus [lets just check checking out from the equation]. The price of the Costco bird is 6.50$. Therefore, the utils of a cosco chicken is .688.
A truck bird may run something like this: 16/(15 + 4.5) whereby I assume it takes 15 minutes to find a truck, and the going rate is two for 9$.
The utils from a truck bird is: .820
Therefore it shows seems that unless one is really looking to spend around 25 minutes to save 2-3$, the truck bird is a more logical choice.
Next week, soju or soju fresh, an economic perspective. |
