is coming up for the Southern Hemisphere on Saturday 13 March 2010.

The main idea is to highlight the indecent exposure to automobiles we all must face. But the heck with the politics, it just sounds like FUN!

I knew that would be NZ.

There was this radio competition in Christchurch - if you were seen walking naked around town by the radio crew you'd get 500 dollars cash. My wife (Korean and pretty innocent in terms of that knew nothing about no radio competition) was walking along the pavement taking my son home from kindy and was real surprised by the naked man with his dangly bits walking up and passed her. Freaked her right out.

Couldn't you get the same pleasure any time you wanted by going through air port security with the full body scan gizmos?

This is the perfect example of how/why western civilization is destroying itself.

Sounds harmless enough. I just can't imagine that a bicycle seat is very comfortable naked, and I sure don't want to borrow that bicycle after someone else has been on it all day!

Anyone who makes a political statement by getting naked with the possible exception of Lady Godiva just makes me think their cause is loony. People doing a naked bike ride, spelling out no war with their naked bodies, getting naked for PETA. Even if I might agree with their cause I lose respect for it when people do stupid things like this. And usually they're people you would never want to see naked. It would be nice if PETA would get some male celebs to go nude though.

That is a solo thing. It is much more fun with lots of people. See below.

I wondered about that, too. Butt plug?

OMG, such prudery regarding nakedness! I cannot believe how much naked-phobia there is these days. I even saw a guy in the gym showering in his underwear, and lots of people do this towel dance thing when getting changed because, God forbid, someone might see their thing, the same thing half of the world's population got, too! Ironically, this was at as YMCA where just a few short decades ago, nude swimming was mandatory. Ya-ta boy, you must remember that, no?

Relax, people! Nudity is natural, normal, and healthy, and just not a big deal.

I'm not a prude about nudity. I just think it's really stupid to go parading around naked and when someone mixes a political cause into it then I can't take it seriously. Also, I've always believed if you don't have a nice looking body you should cover it up. I don't have such a nice body and I keep it covered usually even during sex or I at least put the lights out.

So exhibitionist nudity cancels the infringement of the right to privacy by an intrusive government? How about just making the airport screen bigger and putting it up on the wall for all to see? Or is your objection that the TSA agents could see you but you can't see them? Maybe it's the voyeur angle that is missing in your explanation of why you object so strenuously.

You don't happen to own a Burberry coat, do you? Wink

Maybe you went to a more liberal YMCA. I don't remember a thing about required nudity, although I was only a member for a short time when I was in 5th grade. Everything I know about the Y I learned from the Village People:

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything For young men to enjoy.
You can hang out with all the boys.

Next time, bring along your 8 y.o daughter into the men's shower/change room with you. Make sure she's naked too.

Want to impress me? Ride a bike naked in Saudi Arabia. Now that I'd pay to see.

The first part I agree with. The second part I don't, though. I mean, come one, it's sex! If they are that disgusted about your body then why would they be having sex with you in the first place??

I know, that's going over the top and I don't do it every time but if it's the first time or we're not in a bedroom then I'd rather stay clothed.

This is exactly one of the reasons that more people should see others naked. Not everyone is a Hollywood star; in fact, the vast majority of us are not. Being naked with others is a corrective for a lot of unrealistic ideas people have about body image, as well as being the great equalizer. Without the clothes to distinguish, say, two people of different classes, they are just a couple of regular guys.
