SK Telecom in South Korea is responding to iPhone competition from rival KT by planning the launch of 12 Android phones
South Koreas top mobile operator, SK Telecom, will unveil 12 more smartphone models in February 2010 in response to the iPhone being marketed by its rival. The new models will be based on Googles Android operating system.
SKs first model running an Android system will be manufactured by Motorola, while Korean suppliers Samsung and LG will provide nearly 10 Android models.
SKs local rival, KT, which is the second-biggest mobile operator in the country, introduced the iPhone to the local market in December 2009. The company is launching smartphones in order to compete with Apples iPhone technology. GTB |
