|

So, what's the deal with the laws in Korea? I'm aware of the 3 strikes and you're out aspect, and I know that they are aiming for people that are trying to make a profit off of p2p material.
There are some American sitcoms I'd like to watch that can't be streamed from the broadcasters websites overseas. So, sometimes, I think about torrenting down some episodes from non-Korean p2p sites. I've heard somewhere the gov is only monitoring domestic p2p sites. Please, any facts? |

I think you don't need to worry about it. I asked some Korean students in their 20s about pirating the other day, and they said everyone downloads and no one cares. |

I've received the Korean internet police warning when trying to view streamed sporting events from the U.S. a couple times...but never had an issue with BT.

If you want to stream broadcasting website shows (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Hulu etc.) in Korea legally, find a good VPN service. Personally, I use StrongVPN (reccommended by another user on Dave's - thanks again) Its definately the best VPN service I've found. |

Which package do you use? This is actually something I was looking for. |

I'm a firm believer in asking the same question until you get the answer you want. And this is just the answer I've been waiting for, thanks. |

VPNs? Have a look at http://hidemynet.com/ - I switched from Witopia to them a month ago and find them very fast, flexible (PPTP, LT2P & SSL/OpenVPN) , excellent rates, and lots of ports to hook into in the US for Hulu, UK for BBC's Iplayer, Germany and Holland.
At 60$/year for all that they're cheaper than equivalent StrongVPN (their 3 City Special pptp/open account is $85/year) and Witopia packages. |

That Korean Police warning is almost always for internet gambling sites that are attempting pop-up ads. the KIS doesn't give a damn about the torrents. |
