On my walk to work today I saw a strange little hagwon/kindy school bus. This was in Ilsan, and the bus was for a school called "Encore." It appeared to be a kindergarten. Below the name of the school and drawing of happy kids was a slogan that read, "Better than any native kids."
The school also had a sign stuck in the front corner of the window that said, "NO FLU" (in English) along with Korean in smaller font which I didn't bother to read/figure out.

In context it's pretty funny, but I would imagine it doesn't mean much of anything to them

I mean, I know Konglish doesn't make much sense in the first place. But I have no idea what this means at all! Any help?

This is my schools motto

Quote:
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him

I'm not kidding

At my school in Bucheon, the school motto was: 'Love Nest'.

I tried to explain to my co-teacher how bad the meaning was, she told me the Principal really liked it.

I just hope Gary Glitter doesn't get a job there! Shocked

Everybody's seen Toss English I'm sure. Walking home from school a while back I saw one of their vans with a banner "Toss Your Way Up."

Some academy/hagwon names are good. My favorite was "Zero English".

My guess is they're trying to imply that they will make their students speak better than a native.

On the placement test at my hagwon: "We can be your proud"

Even if you change it to 'pride' it still doesn't make sense.
