I'm in the 5th month of my contract. I'm quitting for two higher paying jobs. Should I be honest with my school? Or should I make up some elaborate lie to allow them to save face, like personal problems or family issues? |

Conscience rarely tells you to do the easy thing. I'd say that the truth is almost always a preferable option (unless it involves "How do I look?").
Notwithstanding, in this case, the lie is not particularly harmful because it doesn't further disadvantage the school (you've already decided that you're leaving). Furthermore, Korean morality may dictate that it's better to help the school save face. Although, I don't believe it's okay to just apply whichever cultural dictums you find most convenient at a particular time.
If that seems indeterminate, then I've aptly captured the nature of moral debate.
