I went to the one in LA once. A year in Osaka and I never went to theirs.
Koreans will like it. It will also likely be a pain in the ass to get to like Everland and Caribbean Bay. Koreans will not complain about this.
As for the rest of us who don't have kids and are not teenage girls...
BO-ring. |

what's the point when osaka is a 2 hour flight away? and their universal studios isn't 60km out of town |

Because it says it's going to be bigger than the other 4 universal studios combined |

Right, but it's not just the park, it's a bunch of other crap that you can find elsewhere
"The complex in Hwaseong spanning 4.3 square kilometers will include theme and water parks, a shopping center, hotels and a golf course."
Water parks - pointless 9 months out of the year and probably nothing can wrest Caribbean Bay from Korean minds. Shopping center - whooppee. hotels - whoppee. Can't comment on the golf course.
At the Osaka location, you can easily just go back to the city when your day at USJ is over - to hotels, shopping centers, and, er, screen golf courses?
I still say it's a bad idea with the proximity of the Osaka one, but if they were gonna do it they should've made it as close to Seoul as possible (which admittedly just ain't possible).
Anyway, GOOD LUCK! But it's definitely not something I would invest in longer than a year or two. |

I hope it succeeds. Asia is the big market for new amusement parks and until this they've decided to avoid Korea.
I think anytime an international company does business in Korea it's a good thing. |

Everland is 60kilometeres out of seoul... and very close to hwasong
so actually its a good location for it... easy access by train from Seoul St
Suwon St.. and the new express train from Incheon, Ilsan to Suwon will help too...
it will make a KILLING!!!! |

Probably because at the time those characters and studios were created in the US, most of Asia was being swallowed up by a militant Japan, so there really wasn't much time to develop characters. Another way of putting it would be to say "Why can't ANY nation but the US create huge, internationally renowned theme parks based on Hollywood studios and/or characters with universal appeal?" Probably because the US is number one in creating consumer-driven amusements that wreak ecological disaster on the local environment and fatten people up on overpriced short order cuisine. As I recall, Euro Disney was not well taken to when it first opened.
Of course, another thing to ask would be, why can't western countries create video game consoles that have universal appeal, along with characters such as Mario or Sonic that have universal appeal? |

Here are some attractions at Universal Studios LA: Shrek, Simpsons, Terminator,Blues Brothers. Not exactly from the Japanese Imperialist era.
When Disney was deciding where to build in Europe, governments were literally begging them to set up in their countries. |
