Hello,
We have been looking into travelling over land from the U.K to teach English in South Korea or Japan. When we started looking into working visa's for South Korea we discovered we have to apply for this from our home country and that it can be a long and unpredictable process. They only seem to advertise job at the most 10 weeks in advance in Korea (usually less), we would want to spend at least 3-4 weeks (I have previously travelled to Japan over land, taking 3 1/2 weeks), if not longer to get there, so with the time taken to apply and hear back about the job, then the 4 weeks minimum to organise everything for the working visa, we're not sure we would have enough time left to get there by land.
Has anyone travelled over land before starting a teaching job in South Korea, is it possible to do this?
Would it be a better option to get a job in Japan, where they seem to recruit further in advance and have less stringent visa requirements?
Thanks in advance,
Jess and Al |
