Has anyone out there ever taught in Korea, secured a job in China or Japan (or anywhere else in Asia), and then headed directly to the respective nation for a job? Any problems with consulates, visas, paperwork, etc? |

yep, i'm going to be going to China ( Shanghai) in early March and my school in Shanghai will be helping me get a working visa after I submit all the necessary documents to them.
Did you get a job in China or Japan? |

I'm about to head to Japan myself. I have the job and visa, just waiting for the end of the month to board the plane.
Its not a good time to be looking for a job in Japan. Jobs are pretty difficult to find and the main hiring season is coming to a close this month (Dec. - March). You could find work in an Eikaiwa (Hagwon) though if you wanted to.
The only thing you have to do within Korea is make sure you put in your notice with your employer and even that is optional. |
