I'm leaving Korea for Australia. I don't want to bring a wad of cash and bank transfers are not an option. So, can I just walk into my KB branch and ask for traveler's checks, or do I have to order them advance? I would go in and ask, but I've never run into anyone in my branch speaking English.
Thank for the help.

You can get them at the forex desk of your local bank.
BE AWARE that if you have a problem with them (lost or stolen) while you are abroad that you won't be able to do anything about it until your return to Korea. They are NOT the same as T/Cs bought in your home country. There is NO refund or replacement while you are abroad.
Cash (dollars) in large notes are your best bet with a backup of an international ATM card from your bank. |

I would assume they have American Express travelers checks. I know Hana bank does and then if you did lose them it is no problem. I know because I lost a bunch in Thailand a few years ago and got them replaced while in Thailand. |
