Kenwood Major Mixer KMM-750

This mixer is a classic monster, a must for the serious baker. It handles large batches of bread or cookie dough without complaint, and whips beautiful meringues and angel food cakes.
Note that this is NOT the mixer that sold at Costco for 450,000 a couple years ago. This one is almost twice as big and twice the power. The professional KitchenAid mixer is only 600watts (and notorious for burning out on whole wheat bread), while this one is 1200. It is pretty loud, but that's normal for a motor of this size.
There are dozens of attachments that can be had for this mixer (most of them must be imported from Europe, but occasionally some great deals can be found on ebay) from meat grinders to pasta makers.
The machine itself is in perfect conditionit has never been overworked. The only part showing any real wear is the dough hook, which has a slight bit of wear on the teflon coating that occurred before I got it adjusted properly.
Baking is my hobby, and I've had my eye on this for a long time. I begged for seven years before my wife bought this for me for my birthday last December. Over the past 14 months, I've used it about once a week. My mother has had hers for seven years with no problems or complaints; in fact the average life of one of these mixers is 17+ years, and they retain their value very well (This model has been on the market for over 60 years!). I hate to part with it, but it is 220 volts, so it's definitely not going to work in Canada.
I thought that this particular model was not available in Korea. It is, although it is marketed as a small industrial mixer to bakeries and cafes for 770,000 (although a lot of places I looked were charging over 900,000).

It can be serviced in Korea, and I will send it to you in the original box with all the accessories. It comes with a stainless steel bowl, whisk, dough hook, and K-beater attachments, splatter cover, and a plastic spatula.
I'm asking 580,000, shipping anywhere in Korea included.
As a bonus, I will also throw in a small assortment of pans, (including a very good angel food cake pan!) utensils, and ingredients that are difficult to obtain here in Korea (including a big bag of chocolate chips!).
I know there are only a few foreigners who are here long term to appreciate the quality and functionality of this beautiful machine, and although I could sell it quickly on the Korean market, I am offering it my fellow expats first because I know how difficult these are to obtain.
In case you need any more convincing... 100% of the proceeds from the sale of our household items will be donated to World Vision Canada for either well-building or protection of exploited children in developing countries. Already we're hearing about how children in Haiti are being exploited, and it hits especially close to home to us, since two of my cousins were adopted from Haiti, and still have friends back there in the orphanages. We're hoping to raise 5 million won through the sale of all the stuff we've collected over the past 8 years here. There is literally too much to list, so if there's something you need, fire off a pm.
Thanks for helping!

| Stuff like that usually goes for half-price on here, if it sells here at all (poor teachers here, mostly). I'd put it up on craigslist. |

Thanks for the advice,--I know most Daves posters are cheapskates when it comes to buying stuff, but this isn't like electronics where it depreciates quickly.
This is a high quality piece of machinery that is built to work hard for years.
You wouldn't expect someone to sell a 13-month-old ultra-low km Porsche for half price, even to English teachers or would you???
Frankly, what I'm offering is a great deal to the person who bakes enough to appreciate it--I spent 6 1/2 years watching for something like this to show up on this forum, and it never did. I'm very confident if nobody wants it here I can get what I want or more on the Korean market. The main advantage to me selling it here is that I don't have to bother my wife to help me register on the pro baking sites and proofread my ads.
If you'd rather read this ad on craigslist, I suppose I could do that for you though...
BTW, my wife and I have decided that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of our household items will be donated to World Vision Canada for either well-building or protection of exploited children in developing countries, depending on how much we raise. We've raised nearly 3 million so far, and are aiming for at least 5 million or more...stay tuned for more items.
Happy baking! |

Sokcho, in Gangwon-do . . . you're welcome to come and try it out, but if that's a problem, pm me and we can try to work something out.
Sokcho's nice this time of year (it's always nice)! |
