over a thousand of those nice looking ladies in pattaya have been diagnosed with HIV

and rampant is the more infectious gonorrhea and chlamydia viruses, transmitted not just through genital contact but through saliva also - condoms are ineffective with these two

the more i researched the place, the farther i wanted to stay away from it (during my month in thailand i spent two days there, one and a half days too long)

I admit, I've been to Pattaya about 3 or 4 times.

A usual trip goes something like this:

* Wake up at about 4am Pattaya time, since your body clock is still on Korea time.

* There is absolutely nothing to do in the morning and shops/food places closed.

* Enevitably I would spend the morning flopping around in a swimming pool or watching tv.

* By 11am you are so starving you end up at Pattaya Sizzler and gorge the entire buffet.

* Afterwards you feel so sick, you need to take a nap for several hours.

* Finally by night fall you are sufficiently recovered to go out.

* I would start off with an oil massage paying a few hundred baht.

* Then off to walking street; maybe watch muay-thai boxing if it is on.

* This is followed by extensively randomly sampling the local hospitality.

* Might drop into the excellent Iranian restaurant on the way home.

* Might stop by to check emails at a pc bang.

* Might walk through boyz town and be wolf whistled by gay hookers solely to inflate my ego.

* Then finally stagger into the hotel, occassionally with my wallet intact.

* Repeat!
