I want to buy a birthday present for my nephew back in the States. He's a hard core skateboarder so I figure a new Korean skateboard would be a good gift.

Any suggestions on a good brand of Korean skateboard? If you could provide a link to a website that would be a big plus.

Many thanks,

there arent any. skateboarding is very "small" in korea. and like most other countries, they import american skateboard brands.

this is the closest thing you can get http://www.tussamall.com/shop/main.php?page=view_item&class_id=261&item_id=3859 stunt b is the closest thing to a korean brand you can get. and they are the only brand to have a korean pro team. if u go to the actual tussa store in itaewon, i saw a stunt b board that said "seoul" on it. but they only had 1, and that was a month or so ago. ah.. that being said....tussa is the only place that sells "shop decks". they have boards that say "TUSSA, ITAEWON" http://www.tussamall.com/shop/main.php?page=view_item&class_id=63&item_id=4480

Many thanks for this info.

What about snowboarding? I'll check out the link and see if I can find a Korean snowboard brand.

Get him an S-board. It's not quite a skateboard, but it was invented in Korea, or so say the Koreans.

Just to make it clear for someone who looks at this old post***
There is a decent size skate scene in Korea with a few local companies and Tussa is not the only shop that carries local shop boards.

If you're planning on coming to Korea and you skate, buy your hard goods at home! it's really expensive out here and if you get a deck from Korea, it's shit quality because they usually just get Chinese companies to make the boards out here.
