Anyone know any good Korean-American or general Asian-American forums or blogs?
I am aware of the Asian-American Goldsea site--which is good though the forums seem somewhat inactive.
Where do young Korean-Americans go online to voice their experiences/frustrations/concerns/ideas about life in the US or Canada?
Do many exist that are in English?
I've found that a lot of the frustrations voiced on Goldsea by young Asian-Americans are very similar to what we see on this and other expat forums about Korea: racism, skewed portrayals in the media, cultural misunderstandings, etc.
So, anything like this, but more up-to-date would be great.
Anyone have any info?
Thanks! |

I don't understand. Are you trying to imply that Long Duk Dong, Jackie Chan, and William Hung are not representative of all Asians in the US?
As for racism, anyone knows that only blacks suffer racism in the US. Just ask Oprah. |

soompi.com is great for pop culture. I miss ZandD's site, especially Chuck Q. Kim's articles. |

I remember there was a gyopos living in Korea blog/forum somewhere I ran across a while back.
As you can imagine, TOTALLY DIFFERENT OPINIONS/EXPERIENCES than those found here.
Way more positive about S. Korea, a lot more enthusiasm for Koreans/Korean culture, obviously no racist attitudes/overtones that permeates here.
A few bitter people...but they appeared to be the adoptees who spoke no Korean and felt abandoned by their biological parents. |

I might have to disagree that gyopo forums are more upbeat. Plenty of gyopos (including myself) have plenty to gripe about in Korea. And well, just as there are expats who avoid other expats, there are gyopos who avoid other gyopos (like me). |
