Mexican chain partners with UNICEF to donate 100% of February 4th sales to Haiti relief.
SEOUL, 26 January 2010 -- Local Mexican food chain Tomatillo, which has two locations in Seoul, is donating 100 percent of all sales on Thursday, February 4th to help the survivors of the devastating Haiti earthquake. Partnering with UNICEF (United Nations Childrens Fund), Tomatillo announced today that it will hopes to raise money to support UNICEFs relief efforts for the children and families affected by the January 12th disaster.
On February 4th, you can help donate to UNICEFs Haitian relief efforts by going to either of Tomatillos two locations and ordering food. By eating, you can help other people eat, said Peter Chun, Owner of the local Mexican restaurant chain.
We wanted to do something for the victims of the earthquake, especially the children. When watching all the TV coverage of the kids out on the street with nothing to eat, I knew there was something we had to do, said Chun.
Tomatillos business development manager, Stephen Reyes added, Communities and small businesses around the world are banding together for this great humanitarian cause. Even though we cant donate as much as a huge corporation, its my belief that every bit helps. Not only can we raise funds for UNICEF directly, but indirectly I hope we can inspire other people and businesses to reach out and do the same!
Tomatillo is kicking off its partnership with UNICEF at the February 4th fundraiser and will continue raising funds for UNICEFs programs through donations received in the coin-boxes located at the cash registers of each Tomatillo restaurant.
Make a difference in a childs life by eating at one of Tomatillos locations on February 4th:
GwanghamoonJongak Subway Station (Line 1) exit 6, 50m on the left.
YeoksamLocated at Yeoksam Subway Station (Line 2) in the Gangnam Finance Center (GFC) Building, B2.
