120,000 won will be subtracted from your monthly paycheck (every month) to cover utilities, internet and maintenance. |

Yes it is.
All of those things should add up to 1/4th of that, at most 1/2.
I unwitting ran up a 6 month "tab" of 58,000 won in electric bills over the summer. I was all worried when my school called me and told me. Then I saw the bill and laughed. |

It could be correct. if your school is doing it, ask for a receipt from the gas, internet companies, etc. |

Ask for the bills and pay them yourself. |

The (not yet signed) contract states otherwise. |

OMG! If that included water I would be saving so much money. Even not including water I would still be saving 50k in the Winter. Lucky!
I receive all my bills but I give my payments to the school for them to take care of. |

Yeah but that's just your savings in winter.....I'm thinking it's way too much to be shelling out that much during the other times of the year.
Korea does have 4 seasons ya know |

My least expensive bill in the fall was roughly 110k (not incl. cable and internet). Still an overall savings given my highest bill twice that. Think of that purring AC in the humid summer.
My officetel seems to be super expensive in terms of fees too, though. And somehow everyone else I know doesn't spend so much on water and electricity as I do. I should clean my apartment and have them check the water. We have a pressure issue so that could be it. But I really don't want to clean. :/ |

Will you be living in an officetel? This sounds about right for winter-time or summer-time offictel expenses, but it is not nearly that high in spring or fall (when you won't be using heat or AC)
I agree with the person above, ask for the bills and pay for them yourself. You'll save more money that way. |
