I am employed in a public school. My administration recently pointed out that while my contract end date is 8/24, the ending date on my ARC is 8/23 and that this may cause some problems. Is this a common occurrence? Do I need to contact immigration about this?

The leave date of your visa in your passport is probably before the end date of your contract also. You will just have to get an extension when it runs out, not a big deal. I hate having to do it myself, perhaps someone from the admin in your school could do it for you but don't worry now, do it in August.

It all depneds on what date you flew in on. Your visa is activated upon arrival, so you must have arrived on the date you ARC says.

You have two choices

1) tell your boss you are out of the country a day early, after all it is only a day

2) YOu go down to the Immigration office and get an extension.
