Well, on the one hand I received great news about a new university job in Seoul. Housing will be subsidized, but not provided. The good news is that I can choose my own housing, but I have to put up key money and the like. I need to find something this month.
Anyone who has been through this process have good suggestions and advice? I will need something near Chung-Ang University, either on line 7 near Sang-do or line 1 near Yongsan, Novangin or Daebang. If you have other suggestions outside of that area that seem good, I will also consider.
I don't want to go over a million per month, but would prefer something under that amount, if at all possible. Also, I am looking for reliable and honest places that will return key money.
Yikes! Advice needed. |

Get a goshiwon (고시원) near your work until you find an actual apartment
I have a friend who lived in one for a year. They can't be that bad. |

Yeah, I'm looking into those as well Stalin84. However, I absolutely HATE to move. So, if I can move only once, all the better.
But yeah, I'm looking into both. And actually, I made a mistake above. I will be on line 7 near Sang-do, and line 9 at Heuk-Seuk Station.
Where did your friend live for a year? |

Sounds like you're in Korea. The easiest way is to just go to the area and hit up the real estate offices. In most neighborhoods there are definitely places you can move in right away. |
