His name is written everywhere on those screens. Also, she asked what country he was from. Did the bright Orange jacket not give a small hint as to his country and the fact it had Netherlands written on it?
He just won the frigging gold. It's insulting. This isn't daily life. This is an international competition. Names are displayed, and countries announced. Clearly she wasn't watching what she was supposed be reporting. I feel for him. Reporting FAIL. |

Guess he should be asking his coach that, now. |

It is an interesting example of 'over coaching' an athlete. His coach pointed him towards the wrong skating lane, and as a result Krommer was disqualified and his Korean opponent won the Gold by default. Krommer was actually going for the proper lane before his coach yelled at him to get over -- into the wrong lane! I wonder if at that level it is even necessary to have the coaches instructing their skaters where to go. Sometimes the best strategy for a coach is to STFU when their athletes are performing. Too much coaching can actually screw up an athlete.
I for one would have loved to see that final go through as Krammer is one of the best short track skaters out there and Korea is now a powerhouse in speed skating with their performance in Vancouver. |
