Hey teachers!
Do any of you have a good program for tracking student progress, attitude, attendance, and making miscellaneous notes? I'd rather not use a spread sheet if possible.
Any recommendations? |

I don't mind if I have to pay a bit for it. Anyone? |

This isn't standard in most schools? |

There may be a program at my school, but if there is it's almost certainly in Korean. I thought I'd ask here first to see if there was consensus about which program was best or at least a few recommendations. If I find anything I'll post it here. |

I used pen and paper to make a chart with kids' names. Each class, they would get a blue check mark for doing homework and an orange checkmark for participation in conversation activities. If they did either one very well, I would make a "+" in the respective colour.
I found it was a simple system, but maybe it lacks objectivity? |

excel or access, takes a little to set up but once it's done it's fine. I use excell to keep track of everything, print reports. Drop down menus and vlookup are very useful tools
by selecting the student's class then name from a drop down menu, I have a worksheet that I can print off that shows, test scores, class average, number of times they didn't do homework, number of times they were late and there general attitude.
Takes me an extra 15 minutes each day entering in all the data, but the parents love it. (I work for an after school programme).
It did take me a while to make it as a had to learn a lot of the tools I needed. |

Thanks Kaypea and blackjack
I like the simplicity behind your system, Kaypea, but I am looking for a system where I can chart their progress. I'll try to set up a good system similar to blackjack's.
Ideally I'll be able to track attendance, late students, disruptive students, polite students, students who cannot do the worksheet, students who can do the worksheet, students who speak, students who don't speak... etc...
It's a lot of work, but I think the results will be worth it.
Thanks again |

What you can do is make a folder and have several excel files within it. Then you can link the data within the excel files to one main student list and report generator.
I would love to be able to have sub-worksheets |
