Last year I heard that the government were changing it so that from this year 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students would be getting 2 periods of English a week. Is this still going to be the case? I also heard that 3rd + 4th grade would get new books this year while 5th + 6th grade get new ones next year. Has anyone seen these books or have any idea when they might be coming out? It's kinda difficult to plan my 3rd + 4th grade classes for next year without having the base material.

One of my co-teachers had a role in making these books. Don't expect much. She asked me what would be good names to give to the characters. I said give them normal names like Michael, Chris, Alison, Jane, etc. One of the characters ended up being called Bobo or Dodo. Not a clue in the world.

I wouldn't worry too much about the change. We will be notified of the change at the last minute as usual.
