I'd like to thank Harpeau for the idea...

We purchased a yogurt maker at Costco yesterday, and I'm currently making my first batch.

You're welcome!! Denmark plain Yogurt works well as a starter. Organic Premium yogurt is also a good one. Have fun!!

Why'd you need a maker? Just use a insulated warm water bath and a bit of care.

The individual pots are a lot easier to juggle round the fridge.

Mine has these 7 little cups. When It's ready, I put them into a litre sized yoplait yogurt container.

Has anyone tried using powdered milk? If so, what kind? Where did you buy it? How did it work out?

Cheers!

I second the lack of need for a "maker"

I've usued the microwave without it on. Just serves as a small space for the milk to maintain warmth.

My current favorite is the dish drier.
