I'm in the market for either a netbook or a smallish laptop, screen size in the 10-13" range. I definitely need something with a battery that will last for longer than two hours. I'll be using it primarily for work. My budget is flexible, but I need to keep it under 400,000 KRW.

For that much money, you can easily get a brand new netbook. You can go to Costco, Homeplus or shop on the Internet and you'll find something.

No luck at Costco, Homeplus has one model, and I'm exploring the internet option, but shopping in Korean is time consuming and frustrating. Plus, I would like to find something with a larger screen than a netbook if possible.

Have you looked on Gmarket or been to Yongsan? I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for there.

Right now Costco is selling the Dell Mini 10v for 400,000 won. It only has a 3 cell battery, so the power lasts for about 2.5-3 hours. It also uses the older atom processor, the N270. It's not a beast by any means, and the screen is small (it is a netbook), but I think it's going to be hard to find a new laptop in your price range here. Good luck! Online shopping is definitely the way to go here in Korea!

Thanks for the advice, but I live in Pohang so Yongsan is out. When I last checked Gmarket I only found one model. The Costco in Daegu only had a few models in the 500,000 KRW range. And while I may end up having to buy a new one I would prefer used, which is why I hoped to catch someone's eye on here who had one they were thinking of selling.

Try a Samsung electronics store. You could probably find a new netbook for that price.

Hey zstar5000, I've got a Dell Mini 10v that I could sell if you want it. It's a US version, but the only difference is the keyboard and power plug (it works here in Korea, it just requires a plug adapter). The one I have has the 16GB SSD option. This particular SSD isn't actually any faster than a spinning HD, but it is lower power. My mini usually lasts 2.5-3 hours on a charge. It's currently running OSX Snow Leopard, but I could reload Windows XP on it if you want. It's not difficult to swap out the hard drive for a bigger drive if you preferred more space. It takes any standard 2.5" hard drive.

The computer is functionally perfect but it has scratches and scuff marks on the outside from being placed in my backpack. There are no moving parts in it, so you don't have to worry about it having been abused in the past. I've owned it for about 4 months now.

I'd part with it for 250,000 won if you're interested. Since I got my Macbook Pro I haven't been using it much at all. I live just outside Seoul, so we would have to do a wire transfer/mail transaction. I typically don't like doing that, but I had good luck with it once in the past. You can PM me or reply here if you want.
