American working in China with work visa - then wanting to teach in Korea - do they have to go back to states to get work visa and do consulate interview? Or can they do the consulate interview in China and send the documents from China. It would be expensive to go back to the states to do that consulate interview. Thanks.

1st E2 then you go back home for the visa (there are exceptions but the hoops are worse than a Chinese visa).

If you had an E2 at sometime in the past then no worry; any Korean embassy can do it for you.
